For more than a decade, Responsible Parties have been arranged around Europe. The Responsible Party concept is all about voluntary Party Ambassadors informing their peers, their fellow students, about alcohol use to empower them to make healthier choices, and providing water to ensure wellbeing among the party participants.

For more than a decade, Responsible Parties have been arranged around Europe. The Responsible Party concept is all about voluntary Party Ambassadors informing their peers, their fellow students, about alcohol use to empower them to make healthier choices, and providing water to ensure wellbeing among the party participants.

The prevention program ‘Responsible party’ was launched in 2009 by the European Student Network (ESN), the biggest EU volunteer structure with 15 000 volunteers across Europe, and has over the years reached more than 400,000 students in 39 countries.

The program aims to reduce binge drinking among students and it is a Pernod Ricard commitment as a member of the European Commission’s Alcohol and Health Forum, which brings together a wide range of stakeholders in an effort to reduce alcohol-related harm.

The Responsible Party called “Sea Battle” takes place 15-17 May and is an international event on a cruise over the Baltic Sea twice a year departing from Stockholm. The event has grown to become very international with 7 participating countries and thousands of students from across Europe.

Apart from providing the students the opportunity to discover a new city in Europe, the participants will enjoy the cruise experience to the maximum with Party Ambassadors offering a variety of activities on board.

With the Responsible Party partnership celebrating 10 years, it aspires to break down silos, encouraging stakeholders to work together on health and well-being challenges for and together with students. The students are Europe’s future leaders and should have the opportunity to learn, grow and evolve in a secure environment.

2019 is a critical year for the future of Europe. The voice of European students deserves to be heard to understand what they expect and how they can be empowered to build a responsible, active and healthy future Europe.
